Editor-in-Chief (aka "EiC" or "main editor") Main editors have access to all manuscripts. Their primary duties are the assignment of newly-accessioned manuscripts to an associate editor or themselves, the sending of review requests for manuscripts to which they are assigned, evaluation of reviews, and the composition and approval of decision letters. Manuscripts can be processed entirely from within an EiC's office when the option to include the manager's functionality is chosen. Associate Editor Associate editors have access to manuscripts to which they have been assigned. Their primary duties are the sending of review requests, evaluation of reviews, and composition of decision letters. Manager (aka "administrator") The manager's primary duties are the accessioning of manuscripts, sending of review requests (if not sent by the assigned editor), and proofreading before the sending of decision and reviewer thank-you letters. Managers can also maintain the journal's chosen options, including the automatic sending and resending of various letters. All Offices All offices have access to numerous reports and the ability to send and resend review reminder and thank-you letters. They also have the ability to update the template letters associated with their offices. In the case of associate editors, data is limited to manuscripts to which they have been assigned. |
